What the heck is an ARC reader, I hear you ask?

Well, ARC stands for “Advance Review Copy” - it’s a common practice in the publishing world and involves readers receiving a free copy of a book in exchange for an honest review.

I’m looking for a handful of keen fantasy enthusiasts to read and review my debut novel, The Soulburn Talisman.

It’s aimed at the Young Adult market, but if you enjoy the likes of Harry Potter, Shadow and Bone, Lord of the Rings, Legendborn and (in a non-R-rated sense) Game of Thrones, this could be right up your alley. Length-wise, it would take about as long to read as Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.

Here’s the description:

The world turns upside down for thirteen-year-old Brooke Woods - literally - when she tumbles through a mountainside portal during a school trip.
And she’s not the only one, either. Her classmates Charlie Flint and Dale Reed got pulled in, too.
Suddenly, they find themselves in a parallel world on the brink of war. A continent teeming with monsters and magic and intrigue. A place unlike anywhere they’ve ever been before, where one wrong move could see them gobbled up or turned into slugs.

There, with the help of a flame-haired woodsperson called Willow, a band of battle-ready trolls, and an ancient Druyad never caught without his pipe, they embark on a dangerous, time-limited mission to get back to the real world. And the only route there takes them through haunted forests, goblin markets and mountain fortresses, all the while pursued by the brutal Commander Hysst and his sinister Doomgaard warriors.
Their journey will forever change their perception of good and evil, and of what TRUE friendship really looks like.
